University Details

The University of Portsmouth is situated in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England and it is a public University.  The history of the university dates back to 1908, once the Park building opened as a Municipal faculty and library. Until 1992 the University was known as Portsmouth Polytechnic before being granted university status through the Further and Higher Education. The university is ranked in the top 50 around the world.

The University offers a number of courses from Pharmacy, International relations and politics, to Mechanical Engineering, Paleontology, Criminology, Criminal Justice and more. Sports Science in the University was ranked number one in the UK by The Guardian University Guide in 2018. At the same time Criminology, English, Social Work, Graphic Design and Fashion and Textiles courses are all in the top 10 across UK.

The city of Portsmouth was named the UK’s most affordable city by Natwest Student Living Index 2016 for students to live in. The University of Portsmouth was revealed as the main shirt sponsor for Portsmouth F.C for the 2018-19 on May 2018.
